This is a basic 12 bar blues shuffle in “E.” The thumb carries all the bass notes, while three fingers cover the trebles. Note the down stems for the thumb. The rests between each chord are produced by lightly touching the tips of the fingers to the strings (damping). This creates a rhythmic effect.
